draft weekend

Hi everyone,
It has been a very relaxing and fun weekend. I started my weekend with a great girls night, Thanks Miranda ! I need that more often, but I was so tired after getting home after midnight. I feel old after complaining about being up past 10 but it's hard to be awake that late these days ! The girls seemed to know that I was out having fun and were mad about it. They decided to show that by taking turns getting up all night long. I think Joe and I figured that we hadn't slept more than 30 minutes at a time the whole night! who needs sleep anyway ? We hoped to get a nap in Saturday but that didn't really happen.

We started our day yesterday with lunch out on the water with Gam and Nonno in Sarasota. Jolee loved watching the boats go by while we ate . Then all of us girls went to Gee Wiz kids museum to play. Then back to Gam and Nonno's house for our annual draft party. That means a comfy spot on the couch, beer, tons of food and laughing at Joey and Jon each with laptops on while also watching the tv. Like you really need 3 different screens to tell you the same thing! Boys! Oh well... We had a great time. Thanks Gam and Nonno ! :)

By the way I am very excited that the Pats drafted Tyrone McKenzie from my Bulls ! I love to see my favorite college players go to my favorite pro team :)

Today Joey went out while Jolee was napping and got us a Slip and slide. Jolee had a blast but didn't quite understand the slide part. She liked to just prance around on it and splash around. We finally got her to slide only if we pushed her. Joe and I also got into the fun and took a few slides. Even Rory had some fun on the slip and slide. All in all it was a very fun weekend. Now I need a nap even more! The girls should sleep like rocks tonight after all the outside time !

Talk more soon

playdate

We had a very nice weekend and start to our week with Softa( my mom) visiting. Unfortunately since she had to leave on wednesday, we kept the rest of the week busy with playdates to keep her mind off Softa leaving. We had some fun at the park with James, and then a girlie playdate with Miranda and Delaney.

Jolee enjoyed teaching Delaney how to play dress up and Laney seemed to have a great time too! Jolee just can't wait until Rory is
old enough to play dress up like Delaney Did. They even had a quick tea party before lunch. It's so funny how little girls play so different with each other than they do when they are with boys. It makes me laugh . Now don't get me wrong, Jolee tries to get the boys to play dress up as well and usually succeeds! But I promised I wouldn't add those pictures to my blog :)

Easter fun

Hope that everyone had a great weekend. We had a really busy one but a good one. We started Saturday at the pool since it was really nice out and Jolee cannot wait to get back into pool season. We are working hard to get her swimming again with no floaties, but her inner girly self is getting in the way. She doesn't want to put her head under the water as it will mess up her hair. This is what bugs her about going under water! She is not worried about breathing, or not being able to open her eyes.. Just her hair getting messed. She is so silly!

Saturday afternoon we met with the Easter bunny himself. The girls were both really good as you can see in the pictures. The rest of you parents out there know how hard it is to get 2 smiling kids looking at the camera, especially when there is a costumed character involved! I was amazed. Our date with Mr. Bunny also included a movie, craft and snack . We had a lot of fun.
After that it was off to our egg hunt with our best friends. 2 kids and 50 eggs in a backyard was a ton of fun. They actually found them pretty quick and had alot of fun. They had even more fun eating all the goodies inside the eggs once we got done.
Rory did remarkably well considering she was also cutting her second tooth. That's right Rory now has 2 teeth. Isn't that crazy. She just won't slow down!

Once the kids activities were done, Joe and I had a fabulous date night which included, pizza, beer and football. Who could ask for anything more! :)

Sunday started with an amazed scream by Jolee saying " The Easter bunny came!" . 7 o clock on the dot we were up and looking through baskets.... It was a bit early but good. After playing with all the new toys and having one too many discussions on why we don't eat chocolate for breakfast it was off to a lovely lunch with Gam, Nonno and Uncle Jona.

The rest of today was spent relaxing and playing with all the new toys. I am now exhausted and heading to bed. I hope that you all had as wonderful a weekend as we did. I had such a great weekend that it reminds me how blessed I am to have such a great husband, family and friends!

Date night

Joe and I had a wonderful date night tonight thanks to my mom being in town. We went out for Pizza and Beer and then off to the USF Spring green and white football game. We had such a great time and even went on the field after the game to meet some of the players. Joey got his Jersey signed by Mr. George Selvie, and has sworn he can't wear it anymore now. I guess he needs a new one now! I was also lucky and got my picture with George! He was a really nice guy and very tall. Walking around on the field with all the players made me feel really small, but that's o.k. , I am ! We had a great night. Enjoy the pictures and I will update more tomorrow after we are done with Easter festivities :)

long but good day

Today was a very long and busy day but a good one too. We started the day with a play date with Miranda and Delaney. Jolee Loves playing with Delaney and I think Delaney mostly loves just watching Jolee. Rory also had a great time playing and watching both girls running around.

After our play date, and Jolee's 10 minute nap, we had some playtime outside. Jolee loves swinging from the roof of her playhouse and just being silly all around. It was such a nice day we stayed outside for as long as we could before Rory woke up from her nap. After that it was time to start cooking Passover Dinner. Jolee was such a great helper. She helped me make the salad, rub the seasonings on the chicken and worked the food processor as well. She is so cute when she is enjoying something. She helped me for about an hour and then finally she kept asking me " What can I do next Mommy?" I was trying to come up with something, although after hearing it every 5 seconds I finally said " Nothing Jolee we are done! " . It was fun having some bonding time in the kitchen together. Then just a little playtime before dinner.

Passover dinner was very nice and the company made it even better. I am super exhausted now and ready for bed. Enjoy all the pictures :)

playtime

The girls were just being so cute together yesterday that I had to take a bunch of pictures. They are really starting to interact together which is so cute to watch. Rory laughs and smiles at pretty much anything Jolee does. Which worries me a little because sometimes that is not the best behavior. I worry that Rory is reinforcing it by laughing just like we would. Oh well, Jolee would probably do the same things either way!

busy weekend

Hi All,
Hope that you had a fabulous weekend. We had a relaxing but busy weekend. We went to the beach Saturday and relaxed and played there. Sunday was a morning at the park and pool and then Dinner with Gam and Nonno. We are tired but it was a really fun weekend so no complaints here.

Jolee was so excited to start swimming again. She really missed being in the water this winter. She picked up right where she left off and was already asking to swim without her floaties... maybe soon, but not yet. I am not ready for that yet!

Rory put her toes in the pool yesterday but we didn't take her swimming as she wasn't quite herself. Rory cut her first tooth already so she was a little off this weekend. I can hardly believe that she already has a tooth. Jolee was about 9 or 10 months before she had her first tooth. I am hoping that this is not a trend for her and she doesn't attempt to beat Jolee to every first. She is already trying to wiggle and scoot. I keep pushing her down but she is already on a mission to crawl! Why can't she stay a baby for at least a while longer ?

Oh well.... Every stage is fun, but I do wish they stayed little longer. I love the stage Jolee is at now. 3 is a good age. She is fun, and listens.... sometimes. She is still cuddly and has so much energy that she is really fun to do things with. The 2 year old tantrums have pretty much phased out which is wonderful! I just don't want them to grow up. Someone was asking me what I thought she would be like when she is a teenager and I was like.. Whoa! she is only 3, let's keep her like that for a while :)
At least the pictures let them stay little . Enjoy them as much as I do :)

rainy day dress up

Well it was a rainy day here so the girls and I played dress up and then had a lovely tea party. Jolee picked out all of our outfits of course. She was in her glory having both of us play along.

I never remember playing dress up princess style when I was a little kid so I guess it's about time. Please sip some tea for yourselves and Enjoy the pictures :)
