baking helper

Jolee is my great little kitchen helper. Almost every night she helps me with dinner and sometimes even setting the table. ( I wish that the helping stage would last forever!) . I am not really into baking that much though, but Jolee has started begging me to bake. Since I can't say no to her wanting to help, I look to ol' Betty Crocker for some sweets from the box. Jolee gets so excited at the site of the chocolate on the box. I think I have found out why Jolee wants to help bake so much though.....

caterpilars everywhere!

Jolee and I went to check on our butterfly garden this morning and what we found was very surprising. There are monarch caterpillars everywhere! below are a few pictures of Jolee and her discovery. She is so excited that our garden worked and that we will soon have lots more butterflies around. After coming inside we looked on the Internet to see how big monarch caterpillars get and they get up to 2 inches long. That's about the size of my finger! We have about 6 full size ones that should be getting into their cocoons any day, and probably about 30 more little ones. We tried counting, but there were just too many and some were really small!

so excited

They are going to be this big!

Just look!

I said look mommy!

How many can you find ?
There are at least 3 in this picture

so cool looking!

painting/teething time

After nap time every day we have always had arts and craft time. That has now become our daily teething/ painting time of day. Rory just sits in her chair with a teething biscuit and watches Jolee color, paint or do anything. Jolee especially loves to paint. These were taken yesterday during our afternoon session :)

dress up blocks

Jolee is such a smart girl ! She has started coming up with her own games which is so funny ( and creative). Her newest game is dress up blocks. Let me explain.... If we build a castle, we dress up like princesses ( mostly Rory gets dressed up). If you build a house , then you play mommy and baby, and if you build robots, you pretend to be robots.... you get the idea. It amazes me the creativity that she has... I have a little genius if I do say so myself! She came up with it all herself too . I am behind a bit so I have a few more posts coming today :) Enjoy !

Aquarium days

My girls love the Aquarium. We have annual passes and we sure get our money worth. I usually take them by myself or with some friends but as many of you other moms know it is hard to take pictures while chasing 2 kids in a public place.
While my mom was in town, we went and I got to take some pictures of the girls enjoying the fishies.
Rory is at the age where she is in total amazement of the fish. It is so much fun to watch her face. I started taking Jolee to the Aquarium at 6 months and she just got so much out of it. Rory is now at the same point and I love being part of it. I feel like I get to see things all over again through my girls and I absolutely love it. I am a lucky mom :)

too big too fast

Rory is getting too big too fast. We had to lower her crib already because as you can see she has already pulled herself to standing in it. I came in one day as she was waking up from nap and found her standing and looking over the edge and quickly grabbed her before she trying jumping overboard. Needless to say that we lowered it that night before she could nap in it again.... I feel like it is too early! She is learning too much from her big sister :)

swingers

Hi all,

sorry its has been a while, but I was having computer issues. Now that my hero of a husband has figured out that McAfee was destroying my computer, we are back up and running.

Jolee has always loved her swing set and could be outside at night swinging for hours if you let her. Well we recently got Rory into her baby swing and she is hooked. She clutches onto the swing so tight but smiles the whole time. She did not want to get out. We like to go out right after dinner and before bath time when it is starting to cool down a bit before dark.

I included another cute picture of Rory as well that has Rory chewing on her fingers while holding a toy carrot. She is working really hard on getting those top teeth to come in!
